Loaded the backpack this morning
and drove 2 hours into Virginia to hike to The Channels.
The trail follows and old fire tower road. The old road has not been used in a long time. The first mile was a gravel private road to some cabins that was boring, but if was good exercise. The last 2 miles were on the old deteriorating fire tower road. Little warm for this time of year
the trail was starting to get rough
and little bit muddy
made it to the fire tower. Now it's just a short hike to the Channels.
going down into this natural wonder
I always let sweety go first incase were attacked by some wild animal
I almost got stuck
to the top for lunch
selfie
a few treats
needed the treats to hold the rocks up.
It was a great 6 mile hike. We done this once a couple of years ago. The views were hreat. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
