Do YOU have to have the best equipment for camping/hiking? Opinions...

I do research and get the best gear I can afford. However the long and short of it is this. If it works for you that is all that matters.

Cajun bayou country is very different and some things I wouldn't dream of being without most of yall aint neva heard of. It don't mean I'm wrong just different.

Well I will never forget the taste of halazone and we tried putting all kinds of masking agents like koolaid or anything in it to make it palatable. Same with iodine. It never worked. I can't even see a close race in the taste here. LOL

There's your problem. You're using the wrong masking agent. Next time try vodka or gin.

Speaking of good camping gear, I choose the 100 proof Wild Turkey over the 80 proof. When considering weight, you get more bang for the buck.
